The city doesn’t clear the downtown residential sidewalks of snow in the winter and so we have to walk in the middle of the roads – if we’re not on the road we’re walking on a narrow foot path on the icy sidewalks, made slipperier with each snowfall.

To be honest though, I really enjoy this rogue behaviour, demanded of us by the conditions. I love that there’s not enough traffic to make being in the roads a serious hazard.
