
Teaching
- 2020 – present: teaching in the Newfoundland and Labrador Eastern School District (NLESD) as a substitute in a wide variety of subjects, mainly English Literature, Art, and Social Studies. I also worked with the NLESD for longer periods as an intermediate resource teacher (IRT) and in distance education (CDLI).
- 2003 – 2020: taught in the Abbotsford and Vancouver School Districts. On contract, I taught high school English Literature , Drama, Video Arts, Photography, Communications, Resource (IRT), and in the Literacy and Gifted Education programs.
- As a part of the VSB Challenge Centres, I was responsible to develop and deliver gifted enrichment courses in Narrative Writing, Marine Biology, Poetry, Exploring the Universe, Creative Problem Solving, and Inventions.
- 1999 – present: I tutor students in junior high, high school, and university, aiding them with their writing and speaking skills and supporting them in the literary analysis and essay writing skills required for their English Literature courses.

- 2001 – 2002: took Basic Photography and Dark Room Methods with Shane Kelly (yes, we dealt in film!)

Linocut, Sewing, Painting (and other mediums)
- 2022: I participated in a Repeat Pattern screen printing workshop with artist, Kym Greeley.
- 2020: as artist-in-residence, I facilitated a linocut workshop at GCBC in East Vancouver.
- 2006 – 2019: I participated in an annual linocut workshop with artist, Joy Banks.
- 2014 – 2016: as a market vender, I sewed stuffed monsters and animals to sell at the annual All Handmade Sale in Vancouver, BC.
- 2013: I participated in the “Introduction to Etching: Hard Ground” class with instructor, Erin Taniguchi at the Dundarave Print Shop on Granville Island.
- I audited art classes in my undergrad and continued painting in watercolour and acrylic.

Music
- Performed at lots of open mics: The Battery Cafe, The Ship Pub’s folk night, Peter Easton Pub, The King’s Head Pub, and more.
- 2023: I supported my brother, Kirk Wells, at the album release show for his album, Iris, at The Peter Easton Pub. I played piano, sang backup, and played the synth.
- 2014 – 2015: sang 1st and 2nd alto in the Vancouver Peace Choir. Conductors I sang under were Daniel Kocurek, Erik Peregrine, and Brian Wismath.
- 2009 – 2013: Music and Art Coordinator at GCBC. I led band practices, organized a schedule of rotating musicians, and facilitated music retreats.
- 1996 – 1998: I sang alto in the Langley Women’s Choir
- Musical instruments of choice: guitar, piano, voice, and percussion.
