With Valentine’s Day also being my oldest son’s birthday, we have a lot of themes to hit, so we like to combine them best we can. Heart pancakes have turned into our Valentine/birthday tradition.
My beautiful boy is now seven. My heart is full of love. Happy Valentine’s Day love.
My thoughtful husband made a slideshow for Caleb to watch during breakfast on his birthday morning.
We made these for my son’s Grade 1 class and all we needed was paper, scissors, pastels, the alphabet in different fonts, and an art page to give as a gift for each child. This year we opted to give an art page instead of sugary treats.

Every Valentine’s Day I like to make cookies for my children’s classes. I had hoped to write the children’s names on the cookies, but decided to get sleep instead.
She’s a delight to bake with in the kitchen.
Valentine’s Day can be complicated for us as a couple – holiday expectations, trying to make the day special for our boy’s birthday, and still trying hard to take special care for one another can sometimes lead to emotional outbursts. So we like to keep things simple by making small, crafted gifts or cards for one another. I love you and like you B.
